Our surgeons at Shipp & Wooten Eye Center are excited to be the first in Northeast Mississippi to implant the Light Adjustable Lens. The RxSight® Light Adjustable Lens™ enables high-quality distance, intermediate vision and close-up vision, thanks to this new advanced technology.
RxSight’s Light Adjustable Lens allows ophthalmologists to give cataract patients even more precise vision than ever before. Here at Shipp & Wooten Eye Center we are always striving to provide the best care possible for our patients, and with the LAL, we have one powerful tool to work with.
You will need to wear special UV protective glasses during all waking hours (from the time of lens implantation until after the last light treatment is completed) to prevent exposure to indoor and outdoor sources of UV light that can cause uncontrolled changes to the Light Adjustable Lens.
Astigmatism can be corrected at the time of cataract surgery with the Light Adjustable Lens.
The Light Adjustable Lens brings a new level of accuracy that other lenses don’t. With the technology used during the light treatments, you can have your vision adjusted to your precise prescription. This is more accurate than the prescription that your eye doctor measures before you have your cataracts removed.
Once your eye has healed, you return to your eye doctor to have your vision tested. During this visit you will be able to preview and compare possible vision outcomes based on your unique preferences and lifestyle requirements before selecting a prescription for your adjustable lens. Your doctor will then apply a proprietary light treatment that precisely reshapes your implanted lens based on the visual correction that is needed to target your custom prescription. You may need 3 to 5 total light treatments to reach your vision goals.
In order to find out if the Light Adjustable Lens is right for you, you will need to schedule an appointment at Shipp & Wooten Eye Center.
